Dr. Kevin Kemp manages technology and external research programs at NXP Semiconductors. He is also active in university recruiting, technical branding and student mentoring.
Dr. Kemp has extensive experience in R&D and engineering management in the semiconductor industry. He developed and managed the deployment of i-line and DUV lithography processes in Motorola’s semiconductor development and manufacturing facilities, led EUV and 193nm immersion lithography research as Director of SEMATECH’s Lithography Division, and managed research and engineering development for 200mm and 300mm lithography equipment at FSI International. In these positions he also played leadership roles in the start-up of Motorola’s ATMC wafer fab, SEMATECH’s operation at the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany, NY, and the launch of EverSpin Technologies from Freescale’s MRAM development program.
Dr. Kemp has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University, Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, and holds 6 U.S. patents.
