The Rapid Product and Process Development Center is engaged in research and educational activities in design, development, automation and analysis of functional products, processes, tools and systems in diverse sizes. Research efforts are focused on functionality and customization based on requirements.
Equipment available in the RPD Center includes:
- ZPrinter 450 3Dprinter
- Miscellaneous tools, parts, and current projects.
The RPD Center also contains a selection of 3D printers and associated support equipment housed in an environmentally-controlled area in the General Manufacturing Lab (RFM 1235).
Equipment in the environmentally-controlled portion of the GML which is associated with the RPD lab includes:
- Solidscape 3Z studio Wax 3D printer
- Stratasys Uprint SE Plus 3D printer
Systems available in the RPD Center are used primarily in courses such as MFGE4399A Reverse Engineering and Freeform Fabrication and MFGE 4365 Tool Design.
