The Texas State Chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers is open for membership by all Technology Students. SME was organized to promote professional growth and social activity among its membership. All interested university faculty and students are welcome to join.

Institute of Industrial Engineers

Faculty Advisor - Dr. Jesus Jimenez

The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) is the world's largest professional society dedicated to the support of the Industrial Engineering (IE) and related professions.  The IIE student chapter in Texas State carries out this mission trough organized, collaborative effort in study, research, and discussion of the field of Industrial Engineering, and through the dissemination of knowledge thereby gained.  The main activities of IIE include organizing leadership and networking sessions, hosting lectures offered by reputable IE speakers from industry and academia, attending research conferences, visiting important industrial facilities, participating in student competitions, offering certifications to members, etc.

Society of Women Engineers

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national, not-for-profit educational and service organization that stimulates women to achieve full potential in their careers as engineers and leaders and expand the image of the engineering profession. The Texas State Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (TS-SWE) is open for membership to students from Engineering, Technology, Computer Science and related fields that are active SWE members. TS-SWE members have opportunity to participate in activities that enhance leadership abilities, outreach girls interested in engineering careers, and permit interchange of ideas among its members.
