John is currently the Intel Texas Crisis Manager where he owns emergency planning, EOC (Emergency Operations Center) coordination, direction for the ERT (Emergency Response Team), and the creation and maintenance the Intel Austin-related business continuity plans. He enjoys teaching and is certified in more than a half-dozen Intel courses. Additionally, he is responsible for Intel's year-round intern hiring program as well as maintaining relationships with local universities.

John sought-out this role after a full career in the semiconductor industry as a layout (mask) designer primarily associated with memory circuits and CPUs. He held roles both as a direct contributor and a team manager: John got his industry start at Mostek in Texas, tried out start-up company: Gigabit Logic in California; went back to a large company: Fairchild / National Semiconductor in Washington then escaped a site closure by hiring into Motorola in Arizona. In 1993, he joined Intel in Oregon; however, once the Intel Austin Design Center was created John relocated to Driftwood, TX where he has been since 1999.

John's educational background: ASEE from Terra Technical College in Ohio and a BSBA from University of Phoenix in Arizona.
