Lecture Hall (RFM 5242)
The School of Engineering has three state-of-the-art classrooms for direct lecture classes (RFM 1239, 4232, and 5242). Each room contains a multimedia instructor’s podium equipped with a networked PC, an ELMO overhead document viewer, a DVD/VCR player, and supporting audio equipment. Each classroom also has a ceiling-mounted projector (controlled from the podium), a large screen, and whiteboard. The classrooms give the instructor flexibility to tailor materials and presentations into the form (and media) most effective for the particular subject and particular class.
Students sit at moveable tables for lecture sessions, and at lab workbenches for lab activities. Individual moveable desks or moveable tables are also available in other rooms. The use of moveable furniture allows the rooms to be quickly reconfigured to support teamwork, demonstrations, and other uses as well as traditional lectures.
Equipment available in this room includes:
- Multimedia Instructor’s Podium
- 1 networked Dell Optiplex 755 with 20” monitor
- 1 ELMO overhead document viewer
- 1 DVD/VCR player
- Supporting audio equipment with wireless microphone
- 1 ceiling-mounted Epson 83c projector (controlled from the podium)
- 1 large screen
- 1 large whiteboard
RFM 5242 has capacity for 60 students.
