Industrial Engineering (IE)

IE System integrators and managers
"Industrial engineers integrate people, information, material, equipment, processes and energy throughout the life cycle of the product, service or program."
- Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE)
The need to manage and integrate engineering systems demands that the IE interact with people from all disciplines and levels within an organization, so people-oriented skills are essential in the industrial engineering profession. The system-wide view and the people-oriented problem-solving characteristic are distinctive features of industrial engineers that set them apart from other traditional engineering professionals.
